Emotional freedom technique (EFT)

People who use this technique believe tapping the body can create a balance in your energy system and treat pain. According to its developer, Gary Craig, a disruption in energy is the cause of all negative emotions and pain.
EFT tapping has been used to treat people with anxiety and people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

What you can expect during a consultation
Whether working with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) or a different energy psychology modality I begin consultations with a discussion and exploration of the issue(s) at hand and how you could expect to work and resolve these issues using these techniques. During this first consultation you can definitely expect to experience EFT, its possibilities and effects. Clients always leave feeling that they have gained greater clarity of their situation and have made some (quite often significant) shift. A large dose of HOPE, relief and curiosity are regularly experienced during the first session. The speed at which I can arrive at “core issues”, or the roots of the problem is perhaps one of the most amazing attributes of these techniques, as is the ease and painlessness of their clearing. Clients often comment how quickly we get to explore the roots of problem versus traditional forms of psychotherapy.
During the first consultation, you will get some indication of the number of sessions needed, (In most case only 1 or 2 sessions are needed) although this can change as I progress and is something we will discuss as needed. Whilst some problems can dissipate quickly, others are often more complex and present numerous different “aspects” to be worked through. I take a person-centred approach and work at the appropriate pace – the general idea is to create change and transformation easily and quickly. Clients are also encouraged to use the techniques on their own between visits. This can both accelerate the process and empower the person to manage their own lives effectively, especially in times of need.
